A fantastic experience! With a little trepidation, our little dachshund went to dog boarding for the first time. Thanks to the necessary adjustments, time, knowledge, and above all, love from Nicole, we were certain that he was in a good place. We could leave our Theo behind with peace of mind. In the daily updates/videos, we saw a dog who was incredibly spoiled. Theo will definitely be back ❤️

My old dog was welcomed with open arms there, cared for with a lot of love, taking into account his needs and his breed. I can only recommend this place.

With a nervous heart and a head full of trust, I dropped Olaf (10 months) off at Nicole’s for the first time a few weeks ago. We had a smooth and pleasant introductory meeting a few days before, but still, a first time is always a bit scary ☺️. Just a few moments after getting back in my car, I received videos with an update about our little boy. Phew - everything was going well. It was exactly the reassurance I needed. Throughout our long weekend, we received daily updates on how things were going. He was enjoying the attention and cuddles. His natural curiosity was piqued by the horses and the new surroundings. Everything was still quite new to him, but Nicole always knows what to do. That’s why she’s now affectionately known as “Auntie.” The second time I brought him to stay with Auntie Nicole—just last week—you could already see how much more at ease Olaf was. As we stayed in touch, it was clear he continued to blossom each day. He was much calmer and clearly enjoyed his time with Auntie. Today we picked him up. Very happy to see us and also fond of Auntie. I he could talk, he would tell us about his adventures 🥰 In other words: a holiday with Auntie is a holiday for your dog and for you. Nicole is caring, involved with both pet and owner, and an expert in her field. Highly recommended. In fact, we’re pretty sure Olaf is secretly already looking forward to his next stay with Auntie Nicole.

What can I say Nichol is the dog only dog trainer for me. I was desparately needing help for my aussie as he was very reactive with mainly dogs and sometimes people. I spent ages on trying to sort his reactivty out myself by looking at YouTube videos. Nothing seemed to work its like i tried everything. Until Nichol was recommended to me. Couldn't believe the difference after working with Nichol only in a few week. This training was done by Zoom calls. Changed my life i can now walk my aussie stress free. I was on the verge of giving up. Thankyou so much can not recommend Canine concepts enough. At a extremely good rate too.

Nicole has helped us so so much with my dog’s behaviour! She really takes time to understand the core problem and address that with methods that encourage long term results and change. I’ve had my dog both be trained and stay with Nicole, and it was always nothing but a very positive experience! My dog really enjoys staying with her and I’m always 100% sure she will Be well taken care of, and her needs will be met in every way. (And you always receive regular updates and pictures). The only regret I have is not having met Nicole earlier in my dogs life. Amazing professional and a person! Cannot recommend enough!

Nicole from Canine Concepts is a person who has an exceptional command of canine psychology. She demonstrates a high level of professionalism. We have two dogs, a two-year-old Australian Shepherd and a one-year-old Hovawart. She can, so to speak, read the dogs and translate this to the owners. My Australian Shepherd was very difficult as a puppy. Thanks to Nicole's therapy and the handy tools she provided, I can now fully enjoy my dog, who has grown into a very affectionate animal. During our holiday period, the dogs have also stayed with her for extended periods. It is super convenient that she picks up and drops off the dogs at home. They are very well looked after in a homey atmosphere and were allowed to accompany her daily to her beautiful training field where she gives agility training. You receive daily updates and videos 😁. Both our dogs literally lie at her feet and are simply crazy about her. We have also used her dog walking service a number of times. If you are looking for a well-trained (studied dog psychology at university abroad), reliable, and experienced dog coach/shelter/trainer, you have come to the right place at Canine Concepts!

Nicole and her Canine Concepts Team are the only people I 100% trust to look after my anxious dog when I can’t; Koda, my dog, truly comes out of his shell every time he gets to be with her team - one would think he has no anxiety! The team at Canine Concepts will make sure to have all the necessary plans in place to tailor to your dog specifically. They have the knowledge, the space and the patience to make sure that there are no factors they have not covered that could make a dog uneasy. They will also make sure to tailor to anxious owners, through regular communication and pictures/videos. In sum, I recommend Canine Concepts 100% and Koda finally has a set boarding place that we can all be happy with. Thank you Canine Concepts for what you do and for making space for Koda to feel at home.

Fantastic dog coach. Very satisfied owner and dog 😊 Learned new things in every lesson to teach my dog something in a positive way. For example, walking beside me (not pulling on the leash), receiving visitors calmly (not jumping on them enthusiastically), … very nice to also receive advice via WhatsApp afterwards.

When I started noticing that Sierra, my young German Shepherd, was becoming reactive and I sometimes didn't quite know what I was doing, I contacted Nicole. Meanwhile, about 7 months have passed, and I see Sierra changing for the better. Nicole always takes the time to listen to all the issues and always helped me move forward when I was stuck. Even when I was feeling very insecure myself for a while, she ensured that I also blossomed more towards my dog. She would take over and show me how to approach things, which made me feel a bit more at ease. If there were certain things that didn't work as well, there was always another plan that did help us. So, the needs of both dog and owner were truly looked at individually! Everything we learned was well-founded, and I learned so much. Not only about the training method itself, but also about breed characteristics, genetic matters, etc. I was also taught how to teach Sierra things like wearing a cone. It even motivated me to want to learn even more. I also received summaries of the sessions so I could always review them at home. This really helped. If I have questions, I can always send a message and receive answers and help. You can feel that she is committed and considers follow-up important! During the sessions, they could sometimes run over, but they were never suddenly stopped because the hour was up. The conclusion was always very positive, and I was already looking forward to the next session! In short, highly recommended. Sierra and I are already looking forward to the next time!

Nicole is a great dog trainer. She really knows a lot about different types of dogs. Ours is really not an easy dog but she helped us to understand and stop our dog’s separation anxiety. Nicole is very responsive, she was quickly replying to our messages and gave great advice. You can trust her with your eyes closed :)

Nicole has helped us a lot with practicing and better understanding/reading the body language of our puppy dog. When visiting us, she gave a lot of tips on how to deal with specific situations (for instance resource guarding) and getting to understand the signals a dog is giving you. Also in the weeks after, she regurarly catched up to see how the process was going and was ALWAYS available for questions when we had them. Right now, we can already read our dog much better, allowing us to manage and prevent specific situations as well as building more trust between us and our dog, which gives a lot of rest in our household. We would thus definitely recommend Nicole, we are very happy that we contacted her and are very greatful for the great support she gave us!

Our Border Collie had no agility experience and made rapid progress with Nicole's help. We're very happy we took the lessons at Canine Concepts. We received enough attention to help both owner and dog make progress. After the lesson, we also received tips on other issues our dog might have. And all of this at very attractive prices. Highly recommended!

With a little trepidation, we started agility group lessons with our young Border Collie, Archie, at Nicole's. Three months have passed since then, and what progress we have made over the past few months! Nicole's open and friendly approach ensured that both Archie and I were immediately put at ease during the first lesson. He had had some negative experiences with dog schools in the past, which made him nervous and reserved. Because the groups consist of a maximum of 4 dogs, there is an ideal combination of personal guidance and time to put the provided tips and theory into practice ourselves. She also takes ample time after the lesson to discuss how everything went. In addition to explaining agility, Nicole also gives tips on how to address specific issues in daily life. For example, Archie was bitten by a loose dog, which caused him to become nervous around other dogs. Nicole handled this beautifully with great understanding of the situation and gave him extra space during the lesson. She also provided practical tips on how to deal with such situations in the future. In short, if you are looking for a high-level professional dog trainer with insight into canine psychology, you have come to the right place with Nicole! Archie is already coming to train on her premises with great pleasure! :)

I boarded my Giant Schnauzer with Nicole, when I was a few days away. For me, it was vital to leave him not in a kennel, but with someone who could provide him (more or less with) the same (training and life) schedule as I provide my dog. Nicole was wonderful in all regards. She was available for updates, she made a lot of pictures and videos, she trained with my GS, and is just a very nice person in general (not just with dogs ;-). Recommended!

Nicola is the most qualified dog behaviour specialist we have met. We started consulting her before getting our Belgian Malinois puppy. Her advice from day 1 allowed us to build a stable and joyful relationship with our dog without using any force, which was the No 1 criterion for choosing a behaviour specialist. Nicola uses only positive reinforcement methods to train dogs; she helped us not only understand the dog's body language, and the root cause of a certain dog's behaviours, but also changed our thinking about the way we see a puppy. We have been consulting with Nicola for six months now, and we can honestly tell that it's the best investment we could have made to have a mentally stable and confident puppy. Thank you for helping us enjoy every moment of friendship with our puppy on the journey to becoming the best dog parents for Lulu. Best recommendations.

Thanks to Nicole, I've been able to make enormous progress with my Australian Shepherd, Lizzy. Before her first visit, she took the time to listen to my story with Lizzy over the phone. A few days later, she again spent considerable time observing Lizzy's behavior and identifying the causes of the problem behavior during the first physical visit. Unlike other dog trainers, a session doesn't feel time-bound. She takes her time and doesn't abruptly cut sessions short due to time pressure. During the sessions, she works very hands-on and interactively. Furthermore, other dog trainers tend to limit themselves to encouraging owners to do the exact opposite of what they were already doing. Nicole, however, doesn't. Besides offering new methods, she sometimes provides small tweaks or confirms that you were already doing certain things well as an owner. After each session, Nicole always sent a message summarizing everything that was discussed. Since a lot is covered during a session, a recap like this is incredibly helpful. She's also incredibly easy to reach for any follow-up questions after sessions and regularly checks in on progress. Thanks to Nicole's methods, Lizzy and I have made enormous progress. Both the biting behavior and the separation anxiety have completely disappeared. In short, I would highly recommend anyone looking for a dog trainer to contact Nicole. Her observations and advice are far superior to those of the average dog trainer.

Nicole is amazing with dogs and wonderful with people too 🙂. We took our new dog , 2 year old rescue to her a week ago. He has some problems in food resource , greeting visitors, people resource, lunging at some dogs when on a walk, separation anxiety...and the list goes on🙄🙂 . Watching her work with him was like watching magic unraveling before your eyes! Her method is positive training. She talked us through each step. The extra bonus is her after school help. She's always on hand to answer our questions and help us along our journey in training him at home. Always patient and gives extra tips and tricks. Totally recommend her.

Nicole was such a lifesaver to us and the dog we fostered…and recently adopted :) Having been a stray dog for a while, he was showing fear based aggressive behaviors, which even resulted in biting in multiple occasions. It was almost impossible for us to take him on a walk because he would either freeze for fear or try to bite people’s feet. This has drastically improved thanks to Nicole and the exercises she showed us! She took the time to explain so many things to us and constantly checks in to know how our dog is doing. I warmly recommend her!

Nicole has helped us tremendously with the introduction of our adopted dog and our resident cats. She made sure to check in regularly, give personalized advice and helped us in understanding how we can help our animals and what we need to do. We went from our dog being totally fixated at the cats, eyeing their every movement and not being able to disconnect or relax when she saw them to being in the same room, resting, chewing on a toy. We recommend her dearly!

🐾’Reward based trainers let dogs make poor choices and only reward good ones’ 🐾 Using rewards in training isn’t simply about throwing treats. If that was the case no behaviour problems would exist nor would there be a need for trainers. HOW you implement those rewards is the most important. It’s not about letting the dog do the unwanted thing then reward when they stop. Otherwise we just create patterns of behaviour. Understanding what the antecedents are in any behaviour training is vital. What triggers this behaviour and why. In this example this dog is very fearful of people. People are the antecedent. Why? He is extremely anxious. Knowing these two things gives me a starting point. He has learned that decreasing space and barking makes scary things go away, but why doesn’t it make him feel more confident then? Simply because it doesn’t always work and when he is in this state of mind he is rehearsing and confirming his fears every time and has learned to bark, shout and decrease space is the way to get the thing to go away. But my job is to show him there are also other options, ones that are not going to come naturally to dogs that have been forced into uncomfortable situations both deliberately and accidentally with leashes. I don’t let him have every choice on the table. But all the choices I offer are ones that are beneficial to him developing confidence which as a bi-product creates predictability around strange people and allows him to feel less afraid of people each time. Many people attempt this type of method but employ poor training practices. It’s not easy, it’s a skill. Understanding body language is vital too. Also a skill. Poor training practices will not change behaviour. It runs the risk of making it worse, even when using rewards if incorrectly timed, applied and distributed. #dogtrainer #DogTraining #reactivedog #anxiousdog #fear

The right approach
for every dog

Would you like to build more confidence, calm or enjoyment together?
Or are you looking for a warm and reliable place where your dog can feel truly at home? Choose the option that best suits your needs.
